NEW YORK, 30th December, 2025 (WAM) — UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Monday welcomed the United States’ announcement of an initial $2 billion humanitarian contribution to support the United Nations’ life-saving operations worldwide.
A statement attributed to the Secretary-General’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, said the US funding would strengthen the UN’s capacity to save lives, reach the most vulnerable and alleviate human suffering amid escalating global crises.
