OCHA warns of rise in skin diseases in displacement sites across Gaza

NEW YORK, 15th April, 2026 (WAM) — United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warns that in half of all displacement sites across Gaza, people are affected by skin diseases and cases are on the rise.

In addition, rodents and pests are frequently observed in sites. The UN and its humanitarian partners have distributed mechanical traps and sprayed chemicals, but only on a limited scale, relying largely on locally available items.
