Nine candidates compete in Guinea presidential election

CONAKRY, 28th December, 2025 (WAM) — Around 6.7 million Guinean voters headed to polling stations today to cast their ballots in the first round of the country’s presidential election.

Nine candidates are contesting the vote, including Interim President Mamady Doumbouya, former Minister of Higher Education Abdoulaye Yéro Baldé, and leader of the Liberal Bloc Faya Millimono.
